Frequently asked questions

Can we travel for only 5 or 7 days?
Yes. Choose any number of days that works for you.
Can we travel for one month?
Yes, we regularly plan longer journeys of 21, 30 days or more.
Can we change the route during the trip?
Small changes are often possible when practical. Bigger changes are easier to plan for in advance.
Can we finish the trip somewhere other than Hanoi?
In many cases, yes. Tell us your preferred start and end points and we'll confirm what's practical.
Is the price per car or per person?
The price is for the whole private vehicle per day. We also show a per-person rate so groups can compare easily.
Are hotels included?
No, hotels are not included in the private car price, but we can help you book them.
Are customer meals included?
No, your own meals are not included. Driver meals are already covered by us.
Does the driver need a hotel room?
No. The driver arranges his own accommodation, at no extra cost to you.
Which car is better, 4-seat or 7-seat?
A 4-seat car suits 1–3 travelers, couples and solo travelers. A 7-seat car suits families, groups and more luggage.
Is the driver a tour guide?
The driver's role is to drive safely and know the roads. If you want a local guide for culture, history or trekking, we can arrange one separately.
Can you arrange a H'Mong local guide?
Yes, subject to availability. Our H'Mong guides can speak English, Hmong, Vietnamese and Chinese. Let us know your preferred language in the trip builder or contact form.
What languages do your guides speak?
Our H'Mong local guides can speak English, Hmong, Vietnamese and Chinese, so most travelers can be matched with a guide in their own language.
Does the driver need us to pay for his food?
No. The driver's meals are already included in our price.
Can we design our own route?
Yes. The sample routes are only inspiration, and most customers build a route that fits their own time and interests.
Can you pick us up at Noi Bai Airport?
Yes, airport pickup can be arranged as part of your journey.
Can we visit H'Mong markets?
Yes, we plan around markets such as Bac Ha, Can Cau and others when the schedule allows.
Can we cross into China at Hekou?
We can take you to the border area on the Vietnamese side. Crossing into China depends on your own passport and visa, and we cannot promise entry.
Do mountain roads take longer than expected?
Northern Vietnam has many mountain roads. Travel time may change due to weather, road repairs, traffic, landslides or local events. The itinerary should remain flexible.
